Overwatch 2: 10 Big Reveals From Blizzcon 2019
7. New PVP Mode: Push
The new PVP mode "Push" has been announced as Overwatch 2's core gameplay, which seems to be in contrast to Overwatch's cycle between payload, point capture and king of the hill gameplay for both Quick Play and Competitive games.
Something like an advanced tug of war, Push involves a symmetrical, two sided map, with players taking control of a central point robot and having it push a divider towards the enemy camp. Whoever has the divider pushed closest to their enemy's base wins when time runs out.
Some streamers have posted gameplay footage off the Blizzcon floor, showing how the gameplay is similar to Overwatch's main game, but with altered strategies and the updated UI seen in most of Overwatch 2's previewed gameplay.
The delightful, friend-shaped robot involved in Push is also shown in the gameplay trailer, saying "I am good at pushing things", possibly as a dig to the common issue of players not pushing the payload in OG Overwatch gameplay.
