11. Mercy – Witch
There’s no other Mercy skin which could possibly be
seen as her best. In fact, Witch is arguably the most popular skin in the
entire game. Its release during the 2016 Halloween event saw the internet flooded
with memes and fan art dedicated to Witch Mercy. But just what makes the skin
so popular?
Besides the obvious - that her usual leggings have been replaced with thigh-high boots – there’s something satisfying about seeing a character that is usually such a goody-two-shoes embracing her dark side. “My servants never die!” snarls Witch Mercy, a far cry from the usually caring and staunchly lawful-good personality we’re used to. In another example of the game’s attention to detail, Mercy’s Caduceus Staff is transformed into a broomstick. It’s a shame this isn’t utilised in her new, free-flying ultimate ability.
The hero’s other most popular skin is Devil, and this also highlights her hidden malevolence, transforming the angelic character into her devilish counterpart and replacing her halo head-piece with large, black demon horns. It turns out Overwatch fans love a bad girl.
