PlayStation 4: 10 Ridiculous Rumours We Hope Aren't True

2. It Won't Reach Europe Until Spring 2014

I pretty much winced when I read this report the other day; sources inside Sony suggest that though the PlayStation 4 will make it to American and Japanese shores this year, it's going to miss out on reaching Europe, and will be pushed into Spring 2014. This apparent delay, implied to be an issue with distribution of units to Europe, reflects the same delay that occurred with the PS3, and will again be a source of agony for players who will want to get their hands on the newest games as soon as possible. If it's true, absurd as it is, expect PS4s to be selling on E-Bay like hot-cakes to European owners who will shell out well over the odds. On the plus side, it'll mean we'll be able to watch the inevitable launch-day screw-ups from the sidelines and make a better judgement about whether the console is worth buying. Besides, in the event of there being any hardware or software snags, it'll give Sony plenty of time to sort them out before the European release. Not that I'm prepared to wait, mind; give me all the hiccups and problems you've got if it means I can just play the damn thing on launch day.
