PlayStation 4: 10 Ridiculous Rumours We Hope Aren't True

1. It Won't Play Used Games

011

Along with millions of others, no doubt, my opinion of Sony as a company would severely decline if it turns out that they decide to restrict the PS4's ability to play used games by forcing players to register new games with their PSN accounts. This would make lending games to buddies impossible without also handing them your PSN account (and who is going to want to do that, given that it presumably won't allow multiple log-ins?), and of course, introduces the terrifying possibility that if a game requires PSN account verification, will the PS4 also require you to be connected to the Internet to play? Of course, that's making a leap; after all, Sony may opt for another way to lock games to the original purchaser, but whatever the method, it would be a terrible thing for gaming and completely kill the second hand gaming market stone-dead. However, given how much Microsoft would stand to benefit from such a crass move, it's difficult to believe that Sony would be dumb enough to do it, no matter how much they would like to. Which PS4 rumours scare you the most? Let us know in the comments below.
