Pokémon GO: 8 Important Fan Complaints Niantic Must Address
4. More Variety Of Pokémon Overall
Tying the availability of Pokémon to certain regions is genius in the short term - until you realise you're never going to be able to travel far enough to see every single one.
Instead, we've been inundated with Pidgeys, Rattatas, Drowzees etc. as Niantic have tried to balance everything out, resigning the vast majority of creatures to timed spawns or geographical locations (like specific countries).
Again, it's a nice idea - and recently the company did put out a statement saying they'd changed where the game's 'nests' are located - but that didn't do anything for most of us, who are still catching the same creatures day in, day out.
In terms of what's out there right now, there seems to be an abundance of starter Pokémon and extremely rare, upper-tier Pokémon, with the entire middle bracket going unaccounted for.
You'll see Caterpies and Weedles alongside mention of Charizards and Mewtwo across forums online, but what of Sandshrew, Abra, Tauros etc.?
Whatever algorithm the company are using to populate the world needs to pick from a wider pool of Pokémon more frequently, otherwise thousands of players will simply give up over time due to repetition.
