Pokémon: Ranking Every Gen 2 Video Game

8. Pokémon Stadium 2

Pokemon Gold Silver
Nintendo

Pokémon Stadium 2 is essentially just a better version of the generation one Pokémon Stadium. It has more mini-games and includes all 100 generation two 'Mons alongside the 151 from gen one.

The thing is, the Pokémon Stadium games rely quite heavily on players being impressed at the novelty of seeing Pokémon fight in 3D. Because of this, just like the original game, this isn't going to be a title you're gonna want to go back to unless you want to play the still excellent mini-games.

This is likely the reason you never see anyone discuss Pokémon Stadium 2. The novelty of seeing them fight in 3D wasn't as impactful the second time - or the third time if you're Japanese.

Still, the game is enjoyable and deserves some respect as when it was released this was easily the best place to experience 3D Pokémon fights. It's just that seeing them fight in 3D had lost a bit of magic by the time Pokémon Stadium 2 came out and it's definitely lost its magic now.
