Project 007 Wishlist: 10 Features We Most Want From New James Bond Video Game
2. New Villains
Bond has one of the most famous rogues galleries ever created with many of its keys players still referenced and quoted in pop culture today.
If IO does give us a new take on 007, then the game will need a new and worthy villain with whom to match wits. The overly dramatic characters such as Blofeld are great and all, but like most things, including villains and their motives, they have moved on too. A new game and a new direction needs a character players can empathise with, especially if that character will need to be confronted multiple times for more many hours.
Skyfall's Raoul Silva and his carnage fuelled (and very convoluted) mission to kill Judi Dench out of revenge were extreme, but his motives were never in question and even understandable to a degree. Couple that kind of development with a colourful henchman, possibly armed with poison fingernails and a penchant for slow death machines, and you've got yourself a classic villain.
Or maybe just go with Christopher Walken as a super-soldier involved in jockey scandals.
