It's free, what more do you need?

The remastered version of Day of the Tentacle - one of Double Fine/Tim Schafer's biggest claims to fame - has been available since March 22, 2016, but now it's "free" on PS Plus, which at first may not seem like a big deal.

Let's get out the way that the PS Plus service being necessary to play online is a bit naff, and that the games made available each month are more miss than hit. Nevertheless, if you do have PS Plus, you can always give them a shot, as they are clearly not free, but rather a nice extra to your collection.

"Day of the Tentacle" is a really old game, released in 1993. But that doesn't mean it isn't for old-time gamers only - quite the opposite.

Here are the 8 reasons why every gamer, from a rookie to a savvy wet, should play the remastered version of the game.

8. The Nostalgia

This one is fairly obvious, as the remastered game is targeted primarily at older gamers, who have fond memories of their first playthroughs, which occurred probably over 20 years ago. For the veterans, the game is a return to a different, much simpler time. The 'nostalgia industry' is a big deal now, and everybody falls victim to it more often than they'd wish.

By playing the game, like its heroes, the veterans can travel to the past and see how far today's games have come. They are not better or worse, just different, there's no need to debate that - it all depends on one's attachments, expectations and so on.

What's cool is that the younger generation gets to see what the olders have devoted so much time to and hopefully appreciate it as well.
