1. A Day 1 Update
There are quite a few primary features locked away at launch before downloading this update, ranging from Second Screen to Remote Play to the inability to run Blu-Ray discs. For more information on what features this update will activate I recommend going
here, but what I want to do is compare how Sony will be handling this situation compared to Nintendo last year. As someone who bought a Wii U at launch and it pains me to say this because I do like Nintendo- downloading its monstrous update was a nightmare that forced me to reconfigure router settings, wait for hours on end, and pray the console didnt crash. Nintendo didnt plan out a single aspect of their console launch. Sony will be making their update (which is already nearly 4X smaller at 300 Megabytes) available to download online before the Playstation 4 even launches. This means instead of fighting millions of people for server space, you can easily download the update off a PC, slap it on a USB drive, plug it in and be done!.Youll be enjoying the console within minutes!
