PS4 Pro: Everything We Know So Far
7. If You're Upgrading, Data Transfer Is Easy
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony stressed that the PS4 Pro "exists in the same digital ecosystem" as the regular PS4 in every way. This means that, although there will be two PS4 consoles on the market, there'll still be one PlayStation Network, one PlayStation Store and one PS4 community. Basically, the PS4 Pro is meant to sit alongside the Slim and Standard models, not replace them.
This is good news for people who are upgrading to the Pro, as it means all your saved data, trophies and files will carry over. Once you boot up the Pro, simply register your PSN account to that system and you can re-download all your games, save files, themes and avatars and continue to play as normal.
Alternatively, you can transfer your games, photos, videos, music, save files, settings, and other content directly to your new PS4 Pro with a good ol' fashioned wire. You'll need an Ethernet cable and system software 4.00 or higher, as well as the same PSN account installed on both systems, for this to work. Piece of cake!
