PS5 Reveal Event: 7 Ups & 6 Downs
1. The Lack Of Concrete Information

Despite the reveal event showing off a ton of games as well as the console itself, it was still frustratingly low on concrete, deep dive information about what players can expect upon launch.
Given that the PS4's price was announced in June 2013 ahead of its November 2013 release, it wasn't unreasonable to expect some basic pricing information for the console's two models - the regular and disc-less "digital" version - yet the reveal event gave nothing away in this regard.
Elsewhere Sony said nothing about the console's backwards compatibility features, and despite the presence of several games which are likely to feature some form of VR support, there was no mention of PSVR at all.
Though Sony have plenty of time to reveal this information, fans have been gagging for a comprehensive blow-out for long enough that they probably should've done it here.
The absence of pricing information in particular seems to confirm whispers that Sony is struggling to price the console competitively, and are basically playing a game of chicken with Microsoft to see who will announce their price tag first.
So, the PS5 reveal wasn't an event for the ages, then, but it still got a lot right. Here's what worked...
