PS5 Secrets: 14 Tips & Tricks You Need To Know
10. Various System Shortcuts
Having used the system for a few weeks now, I wanted to share some controller shortcuts that can speed up and improve your user experience overall. Yes, they're minor, but you'll be using them constantly:
- Double Tap PS Button For Quick-Switch: Interestingly, the menu you get from double-tapping the PS button changes depending on app priority. Spotify seems to override game-switching, but if no additional media is playing, just double tap the PS button and you can hop back into your suspended game as normal.
Even better, if the title is optimised for PS5, you can double tap and jump into a specific level, rather than just going to where you were paused.
- Hold The DualSense Mic Button To Mute All Console Audio - Exactly what it sounds like. If you want to mute all audio coming from the system, hold the console mute button instead of tapping it.
- Triangle Is A Universal Shortcut Button - This changes slightly depending on context, but if you're in the PS Store, hitting triangle will jump your cursor to the top-right of the screen, letting you access your wishlist or the Search function. If you're on the main PS5 dash, Triangle gets you to the Settings, also in the top right.
