Right next to Final Fantasy VII on the list of most requested video game remakes is unquestionably Resident Evil 2.

The Aliens to the original Resident Evil's Alien, RE2 is a balls-out action extravaganza that doesn't sacrifice white-knuckle tension in its quest for more bombastic, big-scale thrills.

After years of development, Capcom finally unveiled Resident Evil 2's remake at E3, and pretty much everything we've seen since from the game looks absolutely terrific.

Graphically, the new RE2 looks better than most surely expected, and most of the changes to the classic original - namely shifting to an over-the-shoulder camera and movement system - seem to be for the better.

It'd be shocking if RE2 wasn't a GOTY contender right out of the gate in 2019, because this honestly looks like it could be one of the best games ever developed by Capcom. Fingers crossed.
