Ranking All Of Metal Gear Solid's Boss Battles From Worst To Best

42. Harrier (MGS 2)

The primary reason the fight between Raiden and a Harrier jet piloted by Vamp (with Solidus riding shotgun) ranks so low is that it basically just feels like a rehash of the Hind D fight from the original game. It's one of the more difficult fights in MGS 2 due to the Harrier's array of high-damage attacks, and the fact that you're relying on Snake to hurl more Stinger missiles down to you when you run low. Strategy-wise there's not a lot more to it than avoiding the Harrier's onslaught and firing missiles when you get an opening (as well as ensuring not to shoot down Snake's chopper by accident!), but you need to keep your eyes peeled to avoid getting lit up by the missiles and gunfire Vamp and Solidus send your way. Again, far from a bad fight, but it feels a little too close to the Hind battle while lacking the same shock factor and atmosphere.
