17. Kasumi
Separated from her DLC buddy in the second game only two Andromedans, Kasumi is another one where fans might feel she’s been hard done to until they consider who’s above her.
The DLC factor again not only means some players missed out on her, it also keeps her slightly separate from the group. She does at least seem to play well with others in the Citadel pack. Plus, her distance is charming rather than abrasive like Zaeed’s. Still though, she has to settle for so-so seventeenth.
Her loyalty mission is amazing, with huge, absorbing chunks of non-combat elements which were surely proof of concept for the Citadel add-on in the first place. Because of her shadowy mystique, seeing her most prized possession be the grey box (think the hologram message from Star Wars) of her late lover adds a dose of depth to her.
Kasumi definitely has potential to be higher. With the likes of Zaeed maybe we want to know more of their history, but with Kasumi we simply want to know more of her. She feels like she would’ve been an excellent permanent addition to the crew, but her DLC status makes her a perennial add-on.
