Made up of several Black Isle Studios veterans (the original creators of Fallout), the first 10 years of Obsidian were bumpy, made up of potential-filled games with that had unfortunately compromised results (e.g. KOTOR 2, Alpha Protocol).

Then Bethesda let them create Fallout: New Vegas, and it resulted in the best entry in the franchise ever since. Its been strength to strength since, with South Park: Stick of Truth, the Pillars of Eternity series, and, most recently, the flavourful The Outer Worlds.

That backlog that has helped grow the company from a talented studio with rough edges, into one of the strongest western RPG game makers on the current market.

Now, with Xbox, the future gleams bright with exciting collaborations: Grounded is a fun blend of Honey I Shrunk the Kids with Don't Starve, Avowed is their spin on Elder Scrolls, and now with Bethesda just next door...could we finally get a Fallout: New Vegas 2?
