4. Forza Motorsport (Series)

Turn 10 made some poor choices for the latest entry in its semi-sim racing series, but it'd be unfair to let that mar an otherwise important member of the Xbox family.

Where Driveclub, Gran Turismo and The Crew have only damaged the appeal of the genre in recent years, Forza Motorsport has been its saviour, supplying wish-fulfilment to the masses who want nothing more than to whittle away the early hours tweaking a multi-million dollar supercar to their liking and then taking it to the track to blaze a trail.

Clinical and devoid of personality have been persistent criticisms of Turn 10's obvious passion, one that it answered with the christening of Playground Games' spin-off, arcadey Horizon series.

Between them both, Forza has the market cornered, and deservedly so. It'll be a long time yet, until another competitor has even a chance of dethroning Forza from its throne.
