7. Splatoon 2
From one colourful explosion of colour to another, now Nintendo's take on the online shooter is off the Wii U and onto a platform with a much more sizeable install base. Hurray!
Of course it doesn't hurt that Splatoon's gameplay is genius in that individual way only Nintendo could pull off, as whilst you are blasting apart as many foes as possible, the real hook to its main Turf War mode is canvassing the entire environment in your team's paint colour.
Tactically you'll then start getting the drop on foes by realising their paint-trail has given away their position, and that's before you get into the fun single-player campaign, co-operative Salmon Run or hourly changeover in maps and modes.
Splatoon is right up there with Mario Kart and Zelda as an essential Switch purchase. Simple as.
