Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Gameplay Features We Need To See
9. Swimming
John Marston was never a strong swimmer. Whoever we play as in the sequel, they need to get their sea-legs. Simple as.
Much of Red Dead Redemption's map is filled up with water. It was a shame then that there was no way to explore those areas. It made some of the map feel like it was filler, and often meant taking the long way around an obstacle.
Letting our new characters swim would negate this issue entirely. Even if it isn't full fledged underwater exploration, swimming on the surface needs to be introduced. It could even tie into the multiple playable characters, and could function as an exclusive skill for one of the gang members, if Rockstar are feeling picky.
The first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 showed a scene with boats in it, implying that players will be able to use these to get around. This is a big step in the right direction, but swimming should still be added.
