Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Reasons It's The Best Game Ever Made

2. That Epilogue

You're reading this article, therefore you're probably a fervent gamer. That means you're all too aware of the disease that has plagued the games industry for the better part of a decade: micro-transactions and DLC.

While these two things aren't inherently negative, we do find them negatively affecting games like Star Wars Battlefront II. It's gotten to the point where we just accept that chunks of games will be left out in order to serve as paid DLC at a later date.

Well, this is just one more area where Rockstar Games bypassed conventions and gave us, not just a massive game, but one with a 10 hour long epilogue. Once you finish Arthur's story in RDR2, it immediately jumps forward 8 years and puts you in control of John Marston.

From there you get a job, lost your wife, rekindle old friendships, build a house, and chase down an old foe. It's a beautiful epilogue that could easily have been cut out and cost $30 extra, but Rockstar went the extra mile and gave us a whole, finished story.

For that in today's climate, the company hasn't gotten enough credit.
