Red Dead Redemption 2 Wishlist: 9 Features We Want To See

1. A Nemesis System

Video games rip each other off all the time, so it's surprising that no other game has attempted to implemented a mechanic similar to Shadow of Mordor's excellent Nemesis system.

Awarding the open world a sense of persistence as the enemies you faced either gained or lost power the more you encountered them, the Nemesis system in that title often had enemies returning from the dead angry and disfigured, or showing up with brand new abilities if they were lucky enough to kill you.

It was an innovative way to naturally create rivalries and add personal stakes to every encounter, and it actually ended up being more engrossing and exciting than any scripted blockbuster set-piece could be.

Obviously, Red Dead 2 should add their own twist on this system and cut out the parts that don't apply to its style of gameplay and narrative, but the central idea of persistent rivalries should definitely be brought over to this sequel.

The inclusion of warring gangs is no doubt going to be a huge part of the upcoming game, and if these enemies persisted, either returning covered in the the scars of your previous encounters or with a new leader who escaped the previous battle, it would do a great deal to further involve you in the conflicts of this world.
