Red Dead Redemption: Who Should Play Who In A Live Action Adaptation

14. Uncle - Jeffrey DeMunn

Red Dead Redemption 2 Jon Bernthal
AMC

The Character: If there was one character in both RDR games that didn't have much development or nuance, it was Uncle.

Sadly, the moonshine-swilling lumbago-ridden member of the gang didn't display his usefulness and he appeared to carry over that gumption to Beecher's Hope.

There were some redeeming qualities about Uncle though; he was fun to have around the campfire during sing-a-longs, and even when morale hit an all-time low at Beaver Hollow, he provided enough sass and quick wit with Arthur to warrant admiration.

The Actor: Remember Dale from The Walking Dead? That character from a hundred years ago who tried his best to be the moral epicentre of the group? Well, grow that dude's beard out a couple inches more and stick a bottle of Guarma Rum in his hand and you've got yourselves an Uncle.

Jeffrey DeMunn is a character actor whose recent role in Billions is a great demonstration of how he can play self-absorbed and emotionally cruel characters, and even if Uncle doesn't necessarily lend himself to the latter, he certainly does to the former.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
