Red Dead Redemption: Who Should Play Who In A Live Action Adaptation

16. Simon Pearson - Tony Way

Red Dead Redemption 2 Jon Bernthal
HBO

The Character: While (as far as we saw) never taking arms and riding into a gun battle with Dutch, Pearson served as one of the most important members of the Van Der Linde Gang - the man who made sure everyone got fed.

Simon Pearson might be the butt of jokes in the gang, but like Rev Swanson, his moods throughout the game greatly parrot the decline of the Van Der Linde Gang's morale. Once the gang relocates to the Shady Belle mansion, his weariness about the group's circumstances bode an uneasy foreshadowing for the events to come later in the game.

Thankfully Pearson gets away - deemed a coward and a traitor by Dutch, which is really ironic coming from him.

The Actor: Tony Way might be one of the UK's biggest low-key great actors.

Never too far away from a comedic role, he's emboldened a lot of great characters over quite a long career. But his stint in more serious roles also proves he's got an earnest side to him, and a great contrast of funny and sombre would fit perfectly in the role of Simon Pearson.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
