Red Dead Redemption: Who Should Play Who In A Live Action Adaptation

17. Sean MacGuire - Domhnall Gleeson

Red Dead Redemption 2 Jon Bernthal
20th Century Studios

The Character: The fun-loving, whimsical Irish member of the gang arrives midway through the second chapter after he is sprung from captivity from bounty hunters.

As a cheerful presence around the camp, Sean is a delight within the confines of the Horseshoe Overlook and Clemens Point chapters - for what little time he is around. It feels like we barely get to know him before he is the first proper casualty when the Gray family ambush members of the gang in Rhodes.

Like many other character deaths in the game, it's a quick and surprising moment players barely get a chance to process as immediately after ensues a raging gun battle.

The Actor: Domhnall Gleeson already possesses physical attributes that fit Sean MacGuire perfectly. Coupled with the fact that he has an incredibly diverse acting range, it would be neat to see Gleeson take on the role of swashbuckling tearaway with a skip in their step.

Much like the suggestion of Timothy Olyphant as Trelawny, Gleeson's casting would be a brief one that (sadly) would be over before we get acquainted with the character. But what fun it would be while he was around.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
