Resident Evil 3: 10 Major CHANGES From The Original
3. Carlos Changed
Carlos Olivera is the second playable character in Resident Evil 3's main campaign. A member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service's Delta Platoon, he has been sent to the city to aid with evacuating citizens. While Jill doesn't trust him when they first meet, she has no chance of escaping the city without his aid.
Originally depicted as a clean-cut all-American, Carlos has been redesigned from the ground up. His hair is a lot thicker and curlier, fitting in with his Brazilian heritage, and he's not so clean shaven anymore. Looking like a grizzled version of the singer from Jamiroquai to me, the heavy weapons expert feels a lot closer to a private military contractor than his previous incarnation did.
On top of this redesign, the section of the game where players control Carlos had been expanded considerably. Originally a single ten-minute to half-hour segment that saw Carlos rushing off on his own, it's likely that mission will remain in the Resident Evil 3 remake.
However, it's possible that the secondary antagonist will play a much larger role in Carlos' story this time around.
