Resident Evil 7 Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To Know
4. Inventory Management Can Be Frustrating...
"Another small problem was with the inventory system. A few times in the heat of battle, you’ll discover your inventory is full and can’t pick up more helpful items. This is par for the course as you’d have to weigh what should be gotten rid of. Sadly, there were a few non-story related items that could not be dropped and caused a bit of frustration when I had to dump precious ammo or health ingredients." - Pure PlayStation
"You can only hold a certain number of healing items, bullets, keys, or mixing reagents at any given time, so you always have to be smart about what you're taking with you. This does lead to a few classic annoyances -- being near-death but carrying too many things and therefore not able to heal with the herb right in front of me comes to mind -- but what a Resident Evil-a** complaint that is." - Destructoid
This is likely to annoy RE newbies far more than franchise veterans, because they'll be firmly used to the strict inventory management of the series.
That said, we've all had a head-smacking moment of frustration or two in every RE game to date where the item management has ended up more annoying than pleasantly challenging, and RE7 is no exception.
It's no deal breaker, but more than a few reviewers were bugged by the archaic busy-work involved with sorting through your loadout.
