Resident Evil 8 Village Trailer: 10 Things You Missed
3. Zombies! Werewolves! Vampires!...Oh My!
After the first initial trailer revealed that a variation of werewolves would now be appearing in the Resident Evil franchise, it has sort of opened up a wealth of speculation of what else could be coming to the series.
With the chilly Eastern European setting of the game, it evokes a strong sense of the classic horror mythology from a period the Resident Evil series has not really leaned into before: that of the classic Universal monster movies.
The Wolf Man was an iconic part of that, as was Dracula, who resided in...a castle in a chilly Eastern European location.
Spotting bats flying about the place would almost confirm this, not to mention, the hierarchy of Lady Dimitrescu's 'daughters', who are likely not her blood relatives, but monstrosities she has 'turned' into creatures of the night within her own matriarchal 'family'.
Also, her daughter's up-and-close reveal near the end of the trailer shows her sporting a blood-caked mouth and display an ability to transform into a swarm of insects - which feels almost like a hybrid of a vampire escaping into a flying rodent with RE 7's Magrieuete's bug ability.
While the 'daughters' are almost certainly of vampire origins, that might all be moot concerning Lady Dimitrescu though...
