Rock Band 4: 10 Essential Bands That Must Be Included

8. Van Halen

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI7XiJgt0vY Given that Van Halen already has a dedicated Guitar Hero game, it can be easy to forget that the band simply hasn't been given its due in the Rock Band franchise. While it would be easy to argue that they simply don't need any further exposure in the genre, the simple fact is that there is a definite contingent of fans who much prefer the note charts laid out by Harmonix over those used in the Guitar Hero games, and they would most certainly like to see Van Halen in their game of choice. That alone is more than enough reason to include Van Halen in Rock Band 4, however, the pedigree of the band also demands attention. They were one of the most influential bands of their era, particularly due to Eddie Van Halen's popularisation of the tapping technique that went on to be emulated by hundreds of aspiring Rock guitarists of the time. Couple that with the fact that there are two distinctive eras of the band to choose from, thanks to the switch from David Lee Roth's era into Sammy Hagar's, and you have more than enough material to justify their inclusion in the game. Let's just hope that Harmonix are wise enough to ignore anything produced during the Gary Cherone days. Key Tracks - Eruption, Ice Cream Man, Hot For Teacher.
