Rocksteady's Rumoured Justice League Game: 16 Features It MUST Include

5. Personalise The Upgrades System For Each Character

The upgrades system from the Arkham games will need to change somewhat in the new game. While it made sense for Batman to find or make new equipment in his stashes throughout Gotham, upgrading both his kit and his ability to use them throughout the game, this wouldn't work for every hero.

Tech and skill-based characters like Green Arrow and Cyborg could easily upgrade their abilities in the same way, but the system breaks when you introduce someone like Superman or Wonder Woman to the mix. God-level characters that rarely use technology, it's expected that they will come with their base powers intact at the start of the game. And yet, there is a need to keep the upgrades system somewhat similar for each character.

One idea, using Superman as an example, would be to have something like Kryptonian crystals that can explain his abilities and perhaps put forward new ideas for how to use them. So he might learn to temper his heat vision just enough to affect sensitive electrical systems or set off sprinklers in a place, perhaps distracting gunmen long enough that hostages can be whisked to safety before he takes the goons down.
