Sea Of Thieves Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs

2. Solo Play Gets Boring Fast

Sea of Thieves can also be played solo, but it's by far the worst way to play, and only serves to underline how minimal the game feels without the boost of social play.

The fetch quests feel more boring, the world feels even emptier and it's just so much harder to make your own entertainment without three humans to back you up. In short, if you've not got friends to play with and are, for some reason, averse to microphone play with other people, this probably isn't the game for you.

It's hard to imagine anyone sticking with the solo game, because it's so bereft of content after more than a few hours.
