2. Better Voice Acting

Granted, a lot of those voices were repeated, but it was still a remarkable feat. The sequel continued in the same vein, with UK players getting treated to the original Japanese voice acting if they played it on the Dreamcast.
That Japanese voice acting also revealed just how wooden and utterly terrible the English voice acting was in comparison.
Said voice acting does have a certain amount of charm - particularly for those who like to go looking for sailors - but modern games have progressed to the point where top quality voice acting is the standard, rather than the exception.
Even though it appears that some of the original voice cast are coming back for Shenmue 3 - with Ryo's voice actor Corey Marshall already confirmed - Ys.Net need to make sure they do a better job of it this time around. Modern gamers will simply be confused at the robotic delivery of Ryo and company if it is kept the same.
