Spider-Man PS4: 10 Ways It Blows Every Other Spidey Game Out The Water
4. Combat
What initially looked like another Batman: Arkham clone, turned out to be a far more intense, tricky, and rewarding combat system. Spider-Man PS4 makes you feel like a bad-ass web-slinger... if you can nail the combos.
While it may look similar, if you play Spider-Man like you would Rocksteady's Batman, you will get your ass handed to you. The combat here is much more nuanced and befitting of Spider-Man than anything that has come before it.
Rather than just button-mashing square and punching goons into oblivion, you'll be looking to pull their gun away, knock them up into the air, juggle them, whip them into another goon, then pull yourself towards another with a kick, slide through his legs, use a web-bomb, and finish the guy beside him with a takedown. And that's just one scenario.
The combat system in Spider-Man is very deep once you begin unlocking all of the skills available and team them with your athleticism and gadgets. It makes each fight feel incredibly fun and diverse, nailing the feeling of being Spider-Man overall.
