By far one of the most intriguing things about this new Spider-Man game is the fact that Miles Morales looks set to play a key role. The character, who was introduced some seven years ago by writer Brian Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli, is already set for his first big-screen adventure later this year in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
It seems as though this Miles, much like the character of the comics, is a kindred spirit with Peter. In a report by Mary Jane Watson, it states that Miles led the Midtown High robotics team to victory at the city's robotics fair having come up with the concept for a "motion-detector" robot. Could this potentially factor into gameplay later down the line?
Also name-dropped were Miles' parents, Rio Morales and Jefferson Davis. The Davis name is of key importance too, as Miles' uncle Aaron (played by Donald Glover in Spider-Man: Homecoming) took on the identity of The Prowler in the comics.
