Spyro Reignited: 6 Levels We Can't Wait To See

1. Skelos Badlands

Spyro the dragon
Insomniac

Arguably the most iconic non-boss level in the entire trilogy, fans absolutely cannot wait for this one. The badlands was atmospheric, beautiful, and had a genuinely magnificent look for its era. Seeing it come to life again will truly reignite many a fan’s childhood.

Just to set the scene, Skelos Badlands is a baking, barren desert. While this doesn’t seem much, it’s worth bearing in mind that deserts were a big theme in Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage. What makes Skelos standout though was the little details. The layout included a bridge of spinal bones to hop over, a molten river of flowing lava and an angry dinosaur with one hell of an underbite.

Insomniac (Yes, the Spider-Man guys) were well aware of what they had with this level too. On the EU and AUS release of the game, the title was changed to Gateway To Glimmer and featured Skelos Badlands on the front cover. While the US version led with Ripto himself, it’s still clear this level was very special to the developers.

One thing’s for sure: whatever level you’re most looking forward to playing through again, all signs indicate that Toys For Bob are going to deliver.
