Cal Kestis may not be the most interesting Star Wars protagonist out there, but he definitely has one of the most impressive force abilities ever. And the fact that it's the first force ability you actually have at your disposal is even more impressive.
Cal's trademark force power is force slow. It's not just putting a field around a person to make them move slower, it's using the force to actually slow down time around a certain area. With just a press of the button, Cal can make anything or anyone move at half the speed they usually do by control the flow of time around them. making it easier to both traverse harrowing obstacles, as well as get some extra hits on a skittish opponent in combat.
When you take a moment and really consider the implications of this ability, it makes you wonder what else Cal can do if he sets his mind to it? Maybe he can speed up time the same way he can slow it down, or maybe even reverse it altogether. I suppose we'll just have to wait until the sequel to find out.
