Star Wars Battlefront: 10 Tiny Details Hardcore Fans Will Love

4. 'Star Cards' Utilise The Mythos To Its Fullest

Y'know, it really says something about a game if it continues to influence a genre almost 8 years on from its release, but since 2007's Modern Warfare introduced perks to the multiplayer landscape you'd be hard-pressed to find a title that didn't offer some sort of imitation on the element. Thus we come to Battlefront's 'Star Cards' - a set of customisable abilities that players get to take into their misadventures in the online arena. A staple of any player's hand seems to be the 'cycler rifle' - a weapon that the more eagle-eyed of Star Wars fans will instantly identify as being the rifle used by Tatooine's resident sand people, the Tusken Raiders. It's fantastic to use when picking players off from a distance, but could probably do with a nerf when dealing hits to the body and not the head. Other cards include such objects as the 'Personal Shield' (which sounds unashamedly similar to the Gungan technology used in the Clone War period), the 'Jump Pack' (returning from the first two games), thermal detonators, and more. There's bound to be more come release, but it's nice to see that these cards pay homage to the mythos rather than bypass it altogether.
