Star Wars Battlefront 2 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs
4. The Core Multiplayer Is Fun...To A Point
It would be absurd to claim that Battlefront 2's multiplayer isn't enjoyable...for a time. The large-scale center-piece that is Galactic Assault will scratch the Star Wars itch for most players, and the numerous other on-the-ground modes such as Heroes vs. Villains and Strike bring just enough diversity to the table.
It's easy to sink hours into the multiplayer suite, and though it's troubled by the aforementioned progression system, overlong loading times and a lack of weight to the shooting, for those craving some casual gunplay, it does the job just fine.
If you can't having fun playing a game where you can become Yoda and mercilessly slice your way through the enemy team, what's the point even playing games?
Fans are likely to be divided on the map selection and whether the game truly improves upon its predecessor, but yes, for the most part the online mayhem is enjoyable, with heavy qualifiers.
