Star Wars Battlefront 3: 10 Ways It Can Save The Franchise
4. Fix Lightsaber Combat
Heroes may be more fun to play as than anyone else in the game, but that doesn't mean that they don't have their own problems.
Jedi and Sith in particular have the biggest problem of all: Lightsaber combat is awful. The special moves give some variety, but most fights in multiplayer devolve into rapidly pressing the attack button and hoping that your attacks will connect with the opponent more than theirs will with you.
It's not like other Star Wars games haven't already fixed this problem. Games like Revenge of the Sith and Jedi Academy both made Lightsaber combat feel fun, fluid and heavy, which is something that Battlefront fails on in every way.
Even Disney Infinity did it better for crying out loud.
Why not introduce some combos, or a dedicated lock-on? This would certainly help prevent the same repetitive attacks and always missing your strikes.
Battlefront 3 needs to place a new emphasis on heroes actually being powerful and fun to use. As it stands, they're much too weak and playing as them feels cheap.
