Super Mario: 10 Great Songs That Defined The Franchise

3. Super Mario World: Castle Theme

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0aoqbDNKaA However if you want real terror than look no further than the Castle Theme from Super Mario World. Seriously, this sound like it was ripped straight from a Hammer horror picture or even one of Old Universal monster movies. I haven't mentioned it yet but the maestro behind most of the Mario music since the beginning is a guy named Koji Kondo. I personally don't know much about Kondo, but what I do know is this: his musical range seems almost unreachable, his depth of musical knowledge is beyond impressive, and his captivity for idea and invention is inexhaustible. Just listen to the Castle Theme. It's everything a scary score should be: eerie and malevolent, with equal parts camp and a bit of lightness thrown in just to give a false sense of security. Whoever makes the next haunted house picture in Hollywood needs to get this guy on the phone and make him do the score. By the way check out this great organ cover of the Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK4RQg9kEZU

Raymond Woods is too busy watching movies to give you a decent bio. If he wasn't too busy watching movies and reading books about movies and listening to podcasts about movies, this is what he'd tell you. "I know more about film than you. Accept this as a fact and we might be able to talk."
