5. Sheik - Impa

Link, Zelda and Ganondorf: the three key pillars of every Legend of Zelda title are present and accounted for in Smash, but it's about time tribute is paid to some of the series' other famous faces. A playable Zora or Goron would be ideal but in the absence of any suitable base for them to be an Echo of, Impa goes straight to the front of the queue.

Breath of the Wild's version of the character is a little too far over the hill to be considered for a fighting game, so either Ocarina of Time or Skyward Sword's incarnations would need to be loaned out. As a member of the ninja-like Sheikah clan and the individual responsible for Zelda's badass alter-ego in the former, Impa's abilities are consequently identical to her protege's.

Perhaps a few changes to account for Impa's katana could be squeezed in, but an otherwise like-for-like palette swap of Sheik is perfectly acceptable.
