Telltale's Game Of Thrones: 5 Intense Moments From Episode 1

3. Punishing A Thief

One of the major storylines of the first episode is the ascension of third-born son Ethan Forrester to lord of Ironwrath. Still merely a child, Ethan is forced to contend with many of the responsibilities that come with the position, including receiving belligerent lords and choosing advisors. But when one of his men is caught stealing weapons, Ethan has to make a decision with how to punish him. This is one of the most agonizing decisions to be made in the game because there doesn€™t appear to be a right one. Show mercy and it looks like Ethan is weak and condones thievery. Remove his fingers or send him to the Wall and he looks like a lord who deals out harsh punishments for petty crimes. Whatever decision you make has its detractors and you feel like you did something wrong regardless of what you do. Choices like this are peppered throughout the episode and highlight the moral ambiguity that gives Game of Thrones its voice. It€™s a very well done sequence.
