The Elder Scrolls VI: 10 Skyrim Mods That Must Be Included
6. SkyUI
Even as a console gamer, I can understand the absolute necessity of SkyUI for PC players. The inbuilt user-interface for Skyrim was heavily geared towards console players, and served its purpose brilliantly. However, on PC the interface was clunky and was hard to navigate with a mouse and keyboard, making inventory organisation a nightmare for PC players.
SkyUI is considered the best fix for the UI providing a much sleek and PC orientated system that functioned far better with a mouse and keyboard. Removing the need to scroll through menu after menu, the mod compacted it to drop down menus that worked through a click of the mouse and put more of the inventory on screen at the one time, to make it easier to move through cluttered inventories.
Even console players who are unlikely to even touch a PC port of the next Elder Scrolls can agree that an intuitive user-interface is a necessity for the PC version of the game. The SkyUI design worked brilliantly and function just as it needed too. Implementing that system from the get-go would make the PC version so much easier to play.
