1st Gen Starters
The Pokénerds have been waiting for the original trio to return, and now they finally have. Game Freak are to reintroduce the classics to the modern player, and personally, I think it's a good move all around for those players of old as well as for those newbies who only know of Oshawott, Snivy, and Tepig as the "starters". I honestly believe that these 3 were the best trio to choose from, and it could be argued that if they weren't so captivating and difficult to choose from at the time, it may have made Red & Blue bomb and the franchise never to get off the ground, but this wasn't the case. With the inclusion of the original starters, there is also their new Mega-Evolution, which will simply be love-hate. There will be a large part of the community feeling that the classics should have been something left untouched, while some are eagerly awaiting the chance to control the new Pokémon and see why they are so Mega. The option to include these again is an all-round positive because you are left with a choice, and it isn't something forced upon you. This means that those who are repulsed by this new idea and cannot stand the fact they have tampered with the originals don't have to actually use them, and instead can choose Froakie, Fennekin, or Chespin.
