The Last Of Us 2: 11 Perfect Theories That'll Blow Your Mind

9. Ellie, Joel And The Cult Hunting Them Are In Seattle

When the first trailer dropped back in 2016 along with some key concept art, eagle-eyed viewers quickly put together that The Last of Us was going to use Seattle as a setting. Identifying certain locations from the real-life city and lining them up with in-game shots, it's almost certain that what fans were seeing was taking place in the city.

While the setting didn't really give anything away about the plot back then, now we know that the fire-lit concept art was taken from the latest trailer, indicating that not only are Ellie and Joel in Seattle, but the cult hunting them down is (or was) too.

With the same location being used for both trailers, it's clear that Ellie's either hunting down the cult - or if they're no longer in the picture - following the trail of her mother by tracing her last known location.
