The story of The Last of Us is one of the best the gaming world has ever seen, making writer Neil Druckmann into an industry superstar and heaping a whole load of expectations onto his future projects.

While he is returning to script the upcoming sequel though, he has way more responsibilities this time around, recently being promoted to Vice President of Naughty Dog as a whole.

Though that's apparently not going to interfere with his duties on the game, the developer has brought in a co-writer to help shape the new title: Westworld's Halley Gross.

Obviously drafting in a writer who isn't intimately familiar with the original material could be a red flag, but Gross is an accomplished talent in her own right, and Druckmann has said that she's allowed the project to go down paths that he'd never have thought of on his own.
