The Legend Of Zelda: 10 Best Intro Dungeons
2. The Legend Of Zelda: Level 1/The Eagle
The series' first ever dungeon (provided players actually stumble on it first during their play through of the open-world game), Level 1 (affectionally known as "the Eagle" given the shape of its map) has formed the blueprint for every single dungeon of the franchise since.
It might not be much to look at these days, but The Eagle introduced staple elements to the series which are still found in dungeons to this day. Keys, moving blocks, new items, boss fights, heart containers all make their debut here.
Given the sheer quantity of enemies on screen at any time and Link's limited sword direction, the challenge is more getting to the dungeon here, but with its identical looking rooms and hallways and obscure puzzles with minimal hints, Level 1 contains enough challenge to keep any Zelda pro on their toes.
