The first few entries on this list have been very Fallout-heavy, but it’s important to remember that Outer Worlds isn’t just going to be Fallout in space. This is a completely original IP and will stand as its own entity, despite the many comparisons that will expectedly be drawn when the game launches.
With a new product we will see a new world, lore, mechanics and characters brought to life by Obsidian. This will be a major selling point for those who enjoyed Fallout, but are suffering from fatigue after many different entries across a number of years. Although there will always be more to explore in the Fallout universe, this new IP will be refreshing change for those looking for something more unique.
If Outer Worlds does live up to the hype built around it, this will likely be the jumping off point for a new franchise. Many fans of Fallout will have first discovered it when Bethesda released Fallout 3 and will likely not have played any of the older instalments. This is a chance for younger gamers to get in on day one of what will hopefully become an adored franchise for many years and many iterations to come.
