Hearing the name Bioware might conjure images of Mass Effect or Dragon Age nowadays, but to many gamers it will inspire thoughts of the fondly-remembered RPG classic Knights of the Old Republic. KOTOR could quite easily be updated with modern controls to make its tactical RPG combat flow just a little bit easier,

Part of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, KOTOR gave us a whole host of memorable characters and an absolutely stellar narrative twist, so it seems such a shame that we haven’t had any more entries in the series. As the expanded universe is now non-canon, we could see literally anything happen with the KOTOR story and have some truly unique adventures across space.

A return to form from the long-dormant franchise would fill the void created by the spate of discontinued Star Wars titles we’ve seen like Star Wars 1313 or Respawn’s Star Wars game. We’ve only really had the bad taste of Battlefront and it’s micro transactions to deal with, so it’s about time we got to play out some new adventures a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
