TMNT: Mutants In Manhattan - 10 Things Fans Are Going To Love

4. The Co-Op Focus

Once the staple of video games everywhere, co-op has struggled to find an audience this generation. Indeed, most titles these days tend to opt for a multiplayer experience, pitting players against each other in online arenas rather than having them team-up. This steady and unfortunate decline of cooperative gameplay is symptomatic of the creeping erasure of couch co-op too, and whilst Platinum haven't rectified that cardinal sin of modern gaming, MIM is placing teamwork front and centre to its experience.

Up to four players can tackle the game's levels as their turtle of choice, or not, if you happen to be a fan of more solitary playthroughs. Whichever way you choose to play however there will certainly be no shortage of context-sensitive finishers, turtle team-up combos and buffs on offer. Raph and co. are after all a family, and Platinum are clearly doing their best to highlight the interdependent nature of their fighting styles.

Combos flow and ebb from turtle to turtle, and whilst it's all fine and dandy to do these things with some AI teammates, gathering your friends and taking on the Foot together will be the most gratifying way to play MIM.
