7. Camilla Luddington

An ever-important part of getting a Tomb Raider game right is in casting a suitable voice actress for Lara. While in the earlier, less-cinematic games, this wasn't quite as much of a concern - they seemed to focus more on her orgasmic moans than on stringing sentences together - the more recent games have sought veritable acting talents, the most notable of whom was unquestionably Keeley Hawes, who provided an excellent vocal presence to Lara even during the off-periods of the character's tenure. Camilla Luddington might not have the same star power as Hawes, though she is blessed with a generally stronger script, allowing her to steer Lara away from an annoyingly well-spoken, arrogant brat-type character to a more likeable and personable heroine. When Lara is weeping over a guy she just killed at the start of the game, we believe it, even if the narrative generally becomes less demanding of Luddington's emotional expressiveness the further along we go. Hopefully CD will realise what a talent they have on their hands and keep her around for at least the next few installments.
